CACAO

Cacao has been used in ancient ceremonies by South Americans (the Maya) for thousands of years. It has an active ingredient in it called theobromine—which can be translated to, “Food of the Gods.”

The word cacao actually came from the Maya word Ka’kau, and the Maya word Chokola’j—which means to drink chocolate together. The cacao plant is seen as a medicinal plant, and has been used for a number of spiritual, medicinal and ceremonial purposes throughout history.

Cacao ceremony is rooted in helping to re-balance the energies within us through opening the heart, connecting with higher self, mental clarity, healing, joy, and restoring good health. Cacao enables us to hear our true self, work through blockages, dissolve any pent up negative energy, and help us align with who we truly are.

Please be aware that the consumption of ceremonial cacao is not recommended if you:

• Have heart problems
• Blood pressure issues
• Are on antidepressants
• Are pregnant

FACILITATORS

Lisa Devi is a yoga teacher, qigong teacher, sound healer, vocalist/musician, and DJ. Her heart’s purpose is to guide beings through these ancient practices of self-discovery, in a safe and loving container, co-creating space to explore consciousness potential for wellbeing.

Influenced by her passion for ecstatic dance, her music style is inspired through a unique blend of tribal/afro/latin/deep house, with an organic incorporation of sacred songs that evoke nature, beauty and love.

Madison Rose is a musician, songstress, caregiver, weaver, yoga teacher, devoted student and humble servant of the Earth. After traveling the US for some time with a women’s sacred song lineage and doing her own inner work around rebuilding a relationship with the divine feminine, she heard the call to begin bringing women together within her community back home in Chicago. Her intention is to create safe spaces for people of all walks of life to come sing, pray, share, play and devote time to our personal and collective growth, within the container of community. For Madison, Cacao has been a beautiful doorway toward this prayer of bringing people together. She has developed a strong relationship with this sacred plant and is honored to be able to share it with her community in this way.

Jenna Lennon-Dorn, RN, is a holistic nurse, health coach, yoga and meditation teacher, retreat facilitator and energy healer. She is full of joy for the transformative healing potential we all possess. She obtained her nursing degree from Loyola University in 2016, her Reiki Master certification at Moonshadow Healing in 2018 and her yoga teacher certification at CorePower Yoga in 2012. Her favorite nursing job was managing a free primary care clinic in South America. She facilitates healing circles, as well as in-person and remote health coaching and holistic nurse consults.

Karampal is a Chicago based 500 RYT, healing practitioner, community builder and the Founder of Sat Nam Yoga. Her love affair with Kundalini Yoga began in 2005 and since then she has been dedicated to making it accessible to all. At the heart of her classes, workshops and community you’ll find compassion and truth. She hopes to empower others to realize their internal and external abundance, to ease suffering, instill lasting hope and is humbled for any chance to serve in this way.

Venus Sabay believes it is everyone’s divine birthright to live with a deep sense of joy and authenticity. As a transformational teacher and mentor, her intention is to activate the inner healer. Her healing journey began in a classic disciple and teacher training certification learning the art of Medical Qi Gong in 2006. Through the power of Qi Gong, sound therapy, and heart centered energy healing she provides a grounded and nurturing safe space for you to explore the magic of your inner Universe.

We look forward to dancing with you soon!
